Full-Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CSN)
Location: Forest Park, IL
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract January - April/May
Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Certified School Nurse (CSN) for a school-based position in Forest Park, IL. This full-time contract role is perfect for a compassionate professional with experience working in educational settings, particularly with special education students. The ideal candidate will provide critical care and support to students with medical needs, ensuring their well-being during the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students with daily living activities such as feeding, dressing, toileting, and mobility within the school environment.
• Monitor and support students' health needs, including administering medication as directed by the school nurse or healthcare plan.
• Provide one-on-one care for students with special medical needs, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the school day.
• Support students with disabilities or special needs in both classroom and non-classroom settings, helping them participate fully in their educational experience.
• Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, and other staff members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate records of students' health and well-being, reporting any concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Assist in transporting students with physical disabilities within the school as needed, including on and off buses or to different locations within the building.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to discussions about the student's care and accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience working as a CSN, preferably in a school setting or with children.
• Familiarity with special education environments and working with students with diverse medical and developmental needs.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families.
• Knowledge of local and state regulations regarding student health and safety.
• Certification and licensure required by the state of Massachusetts for CSNs.
