Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Rate Development & Reserving
- Lead rate level indications, class ratemaking, and competitor rate analysis.
- Recommend annual rate changes and support rate filings with actuarial exhibits and memoranda.
- Collaborate with compliance, underwriting, and data science teams to complete filings and respond to regulatory inquiries.

Financial Modeling & Forecasting
- Design and maintain financial models to support financial statements and projections.
- Provide insights on trends and assumptions to guide strategic planning.

Reinsurance Strategy
- Analyze reinsurance programs, including large loss reviews and catastrophe modeling.
- Collaborate with brokers and underwriting to optimize reinsurance structures.

Analytics & Data Science
- Lead analytics projects using predictive and prescriptive modeling, machine learning, and statistical techniques.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights through storytelling and data visualization.
- Mentor others in analytics methodologies and tools.

Actuarial Consultation & Business Support
- Provide actuarial support for M&A activity, new product development, and geographic expansion.
- Partner with sales and underwriting to develop pricing tools and risk placement strategies.
- Model and recommend dividend strategies.

Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as a subject matter expert on corporate initiatives.
- Manage engagements with external consultants and actuaries.
- Present findings to stakeholders in clear, business-friendly language.

Team Development
- Mentor and train team members on actuarial practices and analytics.
- Perform technical and peer reviews to ensure quality and accuracy.
Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Insurance, or a related field. -
Certifications:
Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) required. -
Experience:
- 4+ years of actuarial experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
- 2+ years of Workers’ Compensation experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
