If you’re an experienced writer with a finger on the pulse of the Movies & TV world, CBR wants you to join its award-winning writing team! CBR is the oldest and most respected comic book culture website in the world. It is the internet’s first and final stop for nerd culture, news, commentary and community.

Our editorial team is looking for writers to create fun, informative, and engaging Movies & TV Reviews that our discerning audience demands, with the eye-catching aesthetic they crave. The selected candidate will have tremendous career growth and internal development opportunities within the organization.

Qualifications

Are you a verified Metacritic, Open Critic, or Rotten Tomatoes reviewer and/or do you have a Google Knowledge panel? Please list all below. Only candidates with at least one of these four profiles will be considered for the critic roleA passion for comic books, writing reviews, and a drive to grow within the industryBroad working knowledge of Movies & TV, including:Disney, MCU, DCU, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon, Rings of Power, Breaking Bad, The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, Invincible, Sitcoms, animated series, Law & Order, NCIS CSI, Chicago P.D., and Grey’s AnatomyUp to date with new shows and moviesThe ability to analyze content and pull directly from the source material to back up claimsA sharp eye for grammatical detailsExcellent command of the English languageAbility to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around timesComfortable working in an entirely virtual environmentShould possess a general understanding of movie and TV culture and strong research skills

Responsibilities

Keep up to date with new shows and movies, watching new episodes or films as soon as they release (or earlier) in order to have review ready for embargo/releaseReviews will be assigned based on each writer’s expertise and CBR’s needsFact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcingAccept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial teamCommunicate openly and actively with the editorial team
